Protocols for Soft-Tissue Pain Relief

Derek Hill, CMT, CFT

Derek spent much of his life around both holistic and conventional medicine.  He gave his first massage when he was 3 years old after recognizing that a family friend was having feet pain.   When he was 4, Derek learned meditation and became a certified teacher at 17.

After graduating high school, he was hired as a research assistant for the Chief of Spinal Surgery at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL, to help determine the efficacy of microdiscectomy surgeries for vertebral disc herniations.  As part of patient follow-up, Derek provided recommended exercises and stretches to those struggling with post-operation pain.

At 19, Derek attended the Cayce/Reilly Massage School where he developed techniques for quickly reducing muscle tension and inflammation.  Several years later, he created a full-body therapy system for improving muscle flexibility and joint integrity.

Derek has run successful practices in North Carolina, Chicago and the Bay Area for over 13 years.  He was the founder and owner of The Core Clinic, a holistic health center designed to bring the best minds in health, wellness and fitness under one roof, which closed in 2009.

Derek is now, exclusively, in private practice to treat, guide and train others how to overcome common soft-tissue problems.
